Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend I.Khalilova / The International Finance Corporation (IFC) has developed a plan on the implementation of a Decree on the actions related to the development of businesses issued by the Azerbaijani President on the 30th of April 2007. The decree envisages the application of a principle 'single window' for the registration of businesses and the licensing of constructions. Aliya Azimova , a representative of IFC, announced that the plan has been submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers, which is responsible for the arranging of necessary procedures.

Azimova stated that the commencement of the process on the establishment of a 'single window' will enable Azerbaijan to enter the club of reformers in the registration of businesses. "Perhaps, this year will not portray the significant changes in the country's rating in the 'Doing Business' report. However, the implementation of this decree will enable an increase in rating. It depends on the reforms held within other countries, for the reason that the report provides a comparative analysis. If other countries carried out considerable reforms, it would be difficult to predict the estimation of a business climate for Azerbaijan," she added.

In compliance with the last report, Azerbaijan occupies the 99th place. DoingBusiness-2007 report, developed by ВБ jointly with the IFC, presented a general rating of 175 countries (an increase of twenty countries as compared to last year) for the level of simplicity of business conduct terms.
