Azerbaijan, Baku, 3 June / Trend / Russian LUCOIL company is striving to create a technological chain to provide energy security in Europe.
"Energy security is based on creating of a technological chain beginning from a well to a petrol filling station in a country which needs our products," President of LUCOIL Vahid Alakbarov said to Vesti channel on 3 June.
According to Alakbarov, current technological chain is connected with the Eastern European countries.
"Supply of Azerbaijan's oil to European markets is due to both pipelines and tankers," Alakbarov said.
According to Alakbarov, Russian companies gained financial and technological potential and now claim for active participation in energy business of European counties.
"We do have the wish to achieve final consumer. And I do not understand why we are threatened with energy security," he said.
Alakbarov said that today Europe's consumers urge not to decrease oil prices but to involve the country in the process through tax rates. "Now, almost 60% of the petrol cost is taxes," he said and added that presently LUCOIL does not export petrol and 12mln tons of the fuel produced per year is sold in the Russian market.
