Azerbaijan, Baku, 6 June / Trend / Azerbaijan is prepared to provide all states of East Caspian with conditions of transparent long-term and diversified gas transportation tariffs, which will change only depending on the inflation processes, high-ranking representative of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR)said.
The transit of the gas via Azerbaijan's territory is necessary for the Republic to diversify more variants of sale and increase competition amongst transport corridors, SOCAR representative said.
The SOCAR representatives consider that it is possible to construct a new gas pipeline in Azerbaijan, which may be used for transportation of both Azerbaijani and transit gas.
Construction of the gas pipeline on a par with existing South Caucasus Pipeline (Baku-Tbilisi-Erzuru) is more efficient. "The closing point of completing parallel gas pipeline may depend on where someone wants to purchase gas, what of the pipelines offers us cheapest transportation and net of prices which we will receive from pipeline," SOCAR representative said.
Construction of a new pipeline will also depend on existence of additional gas volumes which may be produced both in Azerbaijan and other neighboring countries.
