Azerbaijan, Baku, 26 August / Trend , E. Ismayilov/ Bail Limani off-shore drilling department of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) will complete drilling of new development well in Gunashli-15 platform at the early October, Department said on 26 August.
"A total of 600 meters have been left and it will take a month and half," a representative of the department said. The target depth of the well comprises 3,950 meters.
Gunashli is the largest oil and gas field developed by SOCAR independently. The field accounts for 60% of oil and 70% of gas extracted by SOCAR.
New wells are drilled within new development program for 2008-2010 of 28 May oil and gas extracting unit developing Gunashli offshore field. The program is expected to stabilize oil extraction and step up the production of natural gas.
