Azerbaijan, Baku, 9 September/ Trend / Iran is preparing to produce bio-fuel. "At present, the production of petrol from sugar-cane is in testing stage. The production will begin after testing is over," said Golamhuseyn Rahimi, chairman of Scientific Research Organization and deputy education minister, IRNA news agency of Iran reported.
Rahimi said the study was carried out by Iranian specialists. "This project, sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Energy of Iran, is implemented by the Scientific Research Organization, Center for New Energy Studies and several universities in Iran," he added.
Recently, some countries have begun production of bio-fuel because of the rise in oil prices all over the world. Bio-fuel makes up 30% of the consumed petrol in Brazil, he said.
