KazMunayGaz Eager to Develop Fields in Persian Gulf

Kazakhstan, Astana, 22 September / Trend corr. K.Konirova / KazMunayGaz company examines opportunity to participate in development of fields in the Persian Gulf,ї Kairgeldi Kabildin, the President of KazMunaygaz National Open Joint Stock Company (OJSC) said.

їMoreover, certainly, Iran is one of potential directions of the Kazakh oil transportation to the south, including the Caspian Sea. It will enable us to enter the Persian Gulf and to get access to the Asian markets through more efficient routes,ї Kabildin said in his interview with the Property of Republic program of Astana TV channel.

Iran offered the company to examine its share in capital in construction projects of the so called їNorth Caspian Oil Refinery Plantї, he said.

їHowever, there are definite restrictions in connection with the US sanctions against Iran. At present we are studying all these issues,ї Kabildin said.

The Kazakh companies, which are not connected with sanctions, have delivered the Kazakh oil to Iran, he said.

їWe hope that the Iranian route is one of prospective directions and will assist us in diversification of transport routes,ї the head of the national company said.
