Power production up in Azerbaijani north-western region

In 2008 the Shaki power station (the north-western region of Azerbaijan) produced roughly 334 million kilowatt/hour of electricity which by 30 million kilowatt/hour tops the forecast figure," Azernergy Joint Stock Company (JSC) said on Jan. 28.

The station produced 34.5 million kilowatt/hour of power compared to the forecast 31 million kilowatt/hour in December.

Four electricity transmission lines and 110-kilvolt substation underwent repair in 2008.

The Shaki 87-megawatt modular power station was put into exploitation in autumn 2006. The station comprises 10 units. Two-ring 110-kilovolt electricity transmission line with 19.2 kilometer of length was built there to transmit the produced power.
