The introduction of fines on the basis of changes to the Administrative Code of Azerbaijan will contribute to compliance the rules and requirements of natural gas using as of individuals or juridical entities, Azerbaijani Industry and Energy Ministry State Gas Monitoring Department lawyer Aliyev Samid said.
The changes were made to Article 116 Violations of the gas, heat and power legislation of the Administrative Code. The changes were enacted on Feb. 10 of this year.
Previously, Article 116 does not include fines for administrative violations in the gas sector.
"Application of this administrative code to allow increase the responsibility of individuals and legal entities engaged in the production, transmission, distribution, design, construction, reconstruction and commissioning of facilities associated with gas," Aliyev added.
The sum of fines are estimated from 200 and 500 manat for individuals, for officers - 1,000-1,500 manat and corporate clients - 2,500-3,000 manat.
The article is applied not only to consumers but also to legal entities and officials working in the gas sphere.
The Article includes fines for violation the rules to design, construct and put into operation gas facilities, as well as for violation of state and industry standards for gas. The State Gas Monitoring Department is also planning to strengthen its control in this sphere.
