Georgian Batumi port significantly decreases oil and oil products transshipment

During the first half year, about 3.4 million tons of various cargos, of which 2.8 million tons were oil and oil products, were shipped from the Georgian Black Sea Port of Batumi, the Georgian government reported.

During the same period of last year, 5.8 million tons of cargos, of which 4.6 million tons were oil and oil products, were transported through the terminal.

U.S. ExxonMobil transports its own oil, as well as oil of Devon Company, produced on the block of Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields in Azerbaijan, by railway to the Georgian Black Sea Port of Batumi.

Chevron Company transports oil, produced in Kazakhstan in the field of Tengiz, to the Port of Batumi through Azerbaijan.
