The delegation headed by President of SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) Rovnag Abdullayev visited Astara region, according to statement posted on the website of company on Thursday.
The delegation visited Astara compressor station (ACS), where they got acquainted with the ongoing construction and restoration.
It was noted that in order to supply ACS with modern equipment and to extend it the restoration and repair work are held.
This was followed by a field meeting of the leadership and experts of SOCAR.
Speaking at the meeting, the head of the Office of Capital Investment Agasef Aliyev noted that work on the installation of additional compressor units in order to improve the productivity of Astara compressor station and bring the daily volume of transported gas to five million cubic meters is successfully carried out. Pressure will increase to 7-7,5 megapascals. In the first stage of the extension is expected commissioning of six new gas motocompressors, the second - four more.
Rovnag Abdullaev assessed the work as satisfactory and noted the need to complete the restoration and repair work before the end of this year. To this end, the President of SOCAR issued a number of instructions to appropriate structures.
Astara compressor station is constructed and put into operation in 2005. Currently, the station has two units with gas turbine engine. A station transports in Iran 1-1,2 million cubic meters of gas per day. The output pressure is 5-5,5 megapascals.
