Contracts for the supply and transit of Azerbaijani gas to Turkey will be signed in the first half of 2011, President of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR),Rovnag Abdullayev said.
Earlier, Azerbaijan and Turkey agreed on the price of Azerbaijani gas in the first and second stages of the Shah Deniz project and its transit through Turkish territory.
He said the experts of SOCAR and Turkish Botas are currently negotiating for the preparation of documents.
Regarding the issue of gas sales in the Shah Deniz-2, Abdullayev said SOCAR is ready to consider all proposals for the gas purchase.
"The main objective on this issue is the sale of gas at high cost," Abdullayev said.
The contract to develop Shah Deniz was signed in June 1996. Participants are: BP (operator) - 25.5 percent; Statoil - 25.5 percent; NICO - 10 percent; Total - 10 percent; LukAgip - 10 percent; TPAO - 9 percent; and, SOCAR - 10 percent.
