The oil price of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) shed 1.53 dollars at the end of last week when major oil consumer country Japan was hit by a massive quake, according to data issued by the group on Monday, DPA reported.
OPEC's basket price fell to 109.18 dollars per barrel (159 litres) on Friday.
Japan is the world's third-largest oil consumer.
