Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received director general of Austrian oil and gas company "OMV" Gerhard Roiss, "Altyn Asyr" national TV channel said.
The head of the International Pipeline Projects, OMV Gas And Power, Michael-Dieter Ulbrich also attended the meeting.
According to the information, European businessmen pointed out that the concern is ready to provide Turkmenistan with its expertise and advanced technologies. They stressed the growing interest of European countries in supplying Turkmen natural gas.
Expressing the desire to take part in joint projects in the fuel-energy complex, OMV leaders expressed hope for closer bilateral cooperation in the long term prospect.
The Turkmen President emphasized that the main criteria to develop the strategy of the national energy sector is the comprehensive modernization of the infrastructure sector and diversification of export routes for delivering Turkmen energy resources to the world markets.
