The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) imports 41,000-42,000 tons of oil products on average for sale on the Georgian market every month, a source in the SOCAR Energy Georgia, which represents SOCAR's interests in Georgia, said on Friday.
He said 37,000-38,000 tons of the total volume of Azerbaijani oil supplied and sold in Georgia accounts for diesel fuel and gasoline. In particular, approximately 24,000 tons accounts for diesel and the rest for the gasoline.
"Given other types of oil products on average about 41,000-42,000 tons of production is imported into Georgia every month," the source said.
In 2010, SOCAR sold 442,000 tons of Azerbaijani oil on the Georgian market compared to 406,000 tons in 2009.

Oil products are produced in Azerbaijan on the basis of two Baku oil refineries with total capacity of 20 million tons a year. Both oil refineries are part of SOCAR, which annually refines more than 6-7 million tons of oil from onshore and offshore fields at its own expense.
