Ahmadinejad's Oil Ministry candidate Roustam Ghasemi has put oil and gas production from Caspian Sea among his major plans, Fars News Agency reported quoting Oil Ministry candidate Roustam Ghasemi as saying.

"We have not completed our exploration activities in Caspian Sea yet therefore we can not produce from it," he said.

The companies continue the exploration activites but have not reached a result , he added.
He noted extraction of oil and gas resources from Caspian Sea is among his definite programs in Oil Ministry.

Ghasemi said earlier that acceleration of South Pars development plan and joint fields with Iraq and boosting human resources are his main priorities.

Despite early speculations over Mohammad Aliabadi's candidacy for Oil Ministry the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad nominated Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Brig Gen Roustam Ghasemi as the Oil Minister.

The candidates will explain their future plans for new ministries to receive MPs confidence vote.

According to latest news the government list of nominees to head the new merged ministries includes Roustam Ghasemi as the Oil Minister, Abdolreza Sheikholeslami as the minister for Cooperatives, Labor and social Security, Mehdi Ghazanfari as minister of Industry, Mines and Trade and Mohammad Abbasi as minister of Sport and Youth Affairs.
