SOCAR increases number of gas stations in Ukraine

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) plans to commission a new gas station complex in the Lviv region of the Ukraine, a source in SOCAR's Ukrainian office told Trend on Tuesday.

A spokesman said: "SOCAR is developing a network of gas stations under its own brand in the Ukraine. This is being developed through the purchase of existing stations and the construction of new ones."

According to the report, a new gas station complex of SOCAR Energy Ukraine will be commissioned in the Kholodnovidka village.

The opening ceremony this Saturday will be attended by a delegation headed by SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev and the head of the company's Ukrainian representative office Elchin Mammadov.

By 2025, the number of gas stations under the SOCAR brand will reach 1000 in the Ukraine. The company also has stations in Georgia, Romania and in Azerbaijan.
SOCAR is the only producer of oil products in the country having two refineries and also owns petrol stations in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Ukraine. It is also a co-owner of the largest Turkish petrochemical complex Petkim. The company trades in oil throughout the world under the SOCAR Trading subsiduary.

SOCAR is the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan. SOCAR's oil and gas enterprises and produced 7.28 million tons of oil and more than seven billion cubic meters of gas in 2010.

SOCAR also includes the Azneft production association (the companies producing oil and gas onshore and offshore), Azerkimya industrial association (chemical enterprises) and Azerigaz industrial association (gas distribution).
