SOCAR ups investments in Georgia

Investments of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in Georgia reach one billion dollars, Mahir Mammadov, head of SOCAR Energy Georgia, which represents SOCAR’s interests in Georgia, said at the event on the fifth anniversary of the subsidiary.

Investments of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in Georgia reach one billion dollars, Mahir Mammadov, head of SOCAR Energy Georgia, which represents SOCAR's interests in Georgia, said at the event on the fifth anniversary of the subsidiary.

"We have a very good level of relations and we intend to further continue close cooperation with local authorities to expand our activity in Georgia," Mammadov said.

He stressed that SOCAR Energy Georgia continues to supply gas to Georgia's regions. In 2012, the company will actively develop a network of gas stations throughout Georgia. At present, the number of gas stations under SOCAR brand in the country exceeds 80 units.

SOCAR has a number of gas stations in Azerbaijan. Also gas stations are gradually opened under SOCAR brand in Ukraine and Romania. Earlier, SOCAR has acquired a network of gas stations in Switzerland.
