Documents on creating a Ukrainian-Azerbaijani joint venture to supply LNG will be signed at the world economic forum in Davos on Jan.25-26, Ukrinform quotes Vladislav Kaskiv, the head of State Agency for Investment and National Projects, as saying.

"We expect that a number of documents on supply of gas (to LNG-terminal which is under construction in Ukraine) and on creating an Azerbaijani-Ukranian company on gas supply will be signed in Davos. Appropriate documents are initialed and they are only waiting for start of official implementation," Mr Kaskiv said.

He said currently two documents are initialed: on supply of gas to LNG-terminal and on creating a Ukrainian-Azerbaijani company which will develop project of creating the object.

Document on gas supplies will be signed between the ministries of energy. Document on creating joint venture to develop project of LNG-terminal between Ukraine and Azerbaijan will be signed by the State Agency on investment and national projects and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR).

SOCAR has not yet commented on this question.

Kaskiv also noted that Spanish company of Socoin, developer of feasibility study of the project, will complete work after 3-4 weeks. The cost of terminal construction has recently decreased from $1.5 billion to $1 billion, the head of State Agency for investment and national projects added.

The LNG-terminal envisages the construction of a sea terminal to receive liquefied natural gas. After the implementation of this project Ukraine will be able to diversify routes of gas supply of 10 billion cubic meters of gas annually.
