Pavlodar refinery in Kazakhstan processes 120 thousand tons of Russian oil

The Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant (PPCP, northern Kazakhstan, 450 km from Astana) processed 120,000 tons of Russian oil during the first week after the planned annual overhaul, General Director of JSC Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant Shukhrat Danbai told Trend on Monday.

"The Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant processed 120,000 tons of Russian oil during the first week after the planned annual overhaul. The planned was commissioned at the beginning of last week after the overhaul. We intend to process total of 500,000 tons of oil during August," Shukhrat said.

He noted that the company intends to produce 90,000 tons of AI - 92 petrol in August.

"Currently there are no problems in supply of Russian oil to the plant. We buy raw materials from the Russian side at the market price," he said.

At the same time, he added that a new agreement on supplies of Russian oil to the PPCP has not yet been signed and is under negotiation.

"Currently there is no shortage of petroleum products in domestic market of Kazakhstan. There is enough Russian gasoline, which was brought into the country. Deficit in diesel fuel also isn't expected during the harvesting campaign. The plant will provide all the needs of the north of the republic in diesel fuel," he said.

The Pavlodar refinery, built in the 70s of last century, during the Soviet Union, initially was technologically oriented on processing Russian crude oil from fields in Western Siberia.
