Since the beginning of the year Turkmen refineries have processed 4.878.700 million tons of hydrocarbon raw materials, increasing the production volume of different varieties of oil production, a source at the oil and gas industry ministry reported on Wednesday.

Gasoline production has increased by 106.5 per cent, kerosene production by 107.4 per cent and diesel fuel 103.8 per cent.

High results have also been achieved in the production of propylene, liquid gas and lubricating oil.

The national programme of oil and gas industry development which is designed to increase oil product volume and growth of its quality due to processing of hydrocarbon raw materials is being implemented in the country until 2030.

Turkmenistan is planning to raise its oil processing capacity to 15 million tons of oil a year, to 20 million tons in 2020, to 22 million tons in 2025 and to 30 million tons in 2030.

According to approved plans this will be achieved due to the construction and modernisation of three refineries' operating companies including the ones in Turkmenbashi and the refinery located in the eastern city of Seidi, where the tender winners have recently been announced.

At the same time, around 10 million tons of oil is being produced every year, the most part of which is being processed at local companies.

Construction of installations on benzene and toluene xylene production will be launched in a short run at the refinery in the city of Turkmenbashi which is the major enterprise in the country.

Different varieties of gasoline, kerosene, diesel fuel, lubricants and versatile oil, coke are currently being produced at the enterprise.
