In 2012, Azerbaijan produced 43.9 million tons of oil, head of SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) Rovnag Abdullayev said on Sunday at the event on results of the year.
"Within the year gas production in the country amounted to 27.9 billion cubic meters," Abdullayev said.
This year oil and gas production exceeded the forecast figures that were at 42.9 million tons of oil and 27.1 billion cubic meters of gas.
In 2003 it is projected to produce 43.2 million tons of oil and 28.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas.
In 2011, the country produced 45.6 million tons of oil and 25.7 billion cubic meters of gas.
