Turkey reduces gas imports

In January 2013, Turkish State Pipeline Company Botas imported from various sources about 3.72 billion cubic meters of gas compared to about 4.46 billion cubic meters in January 2012, Botas’s official website reported.

In January 2013, Turkish State Pipeline Company Botas imported from various sources about 3.72 billion cubic meters of gas compared to about 4.46 billion cubic meters in January 2012, Botas's official website reported.

In 2012, Botas imported 43.09 billion cubic meters of gas from various sources compared to 39.7 billion cubic meters in 2011.

Turkey also imports gas from Azerbaijan, which is supplied via the South Caucasus Gas Pipeline (Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum).

Also in January, 47 million cubic meters accounted for Botas's export operations compared to 42 million cubic meters in January 2012.

Last year, export indicators of Botas totaled 622 million cubic meters of gas compared to 726 million cubic meters in 2011.

In January 2013 on the Turkish domestic market almost 3.4 billion cubic meters of gas were sold compared to about 4.81 billion cubic meters of gas in January last year.

In 2012, 41.44 billion cubic meters of gas was sold on the domestic market of Turkey compared to about 39.4 billion cubic meters of gas in 2011.
