President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in his address to participants of the exhibition "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan " (OGT-2013) released on Tuesday noted that actively continues implementing of large-scale project to develop the country's largest gas field "Galkinish".

"Currently, on the second phase of development of the gas field there is going rapidly the construction of gas treatment plant with the production capacity of 30 billion cubic meters of marketable gas a year," - said in the letter.

The head of state recalled the recent start- gas cleaning plants in the "Galkinish" in the first phase.

"It is also enjoyable the fact of the commissioning of the first stage of the gas field, which is one of the largest storehouse of natural gas in the world . In recent years, this gas field has turned into a huge platform for collaboration of workers of oil and gas industry of the country with their foreign partners," - Turkmen leader highlighted.

According to him, here Turkmen specialists are working shoulder to shoulder with colleagues from the People's Republic of China , the Republic of Korea , the United Arab Emirates.

The largest fields in Turkmenistan are concentrated in Mary province in the country's Eastern sector. Total resources of Galkinish and Yashlar field which is closely are estimated by local geologists and the GCA British Company to be within 26.2 trillion cubic meters.

Work at Galkinish has been carried out since 2009 on the basis of signed service contracts. Turkmengas State Concern ordered the development of a complex of work to companies such as the CNPC Chuanqing Drilling Engineering Company Limited (PRC), LG International Corp, Hyundai Engineering Co. Ltd (South Korea), Petrofac International LLC and Gulf Oil & Gas FZE (UAE).
