SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) plans to maintain oil export volumes in 2015 at the level of 2014, a source in SOCAR told Trend Nov. 3.
The total export volume of Azerbaijani oil on the world markets will reach about 35 million tons of oil as of 2015, the source said.
"Some 25 million tons of 35 million tons of oil are expected to account for SOCAR," the source said. "The indices are the same as in 2014."
Besides Azerbaijani oil, SOCAR supplies the oil, purchased from other producers, to the world market.
"SOCAR supplied 11 million tons of this oil in 2014," the source said. "The volumes will be the same in 2015."
SOCAR exports the company's own oil and oil accounting for the share of the country's government upon the PSA contracts.
SOCAR includes Azneft (companies producing oil and gas offshore and onshore), Azerkimya (chemical industry) and Azerigas production associations.
Moreover, SOCAR includes a number of processing enterprises, service enterprises, institutions involved in geophysical and drilling operations.
SOCAR is the sole producer of oil products in Azerbaijan. It owns two oil refineries, and also owns filling stations in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Romania and Switzerland.
Additionally, SOCAR is a co-owner of Petkim, the largest Turkish petrochemical complex.
