Iranian oil industry OPEX reach $20B a year

The operating expenses of Iran's oil industry reaches $20 billion per year, about 2.5 times more that the global standards, said the message of Iran's Oil Ministry.

According to the ministry's prepared documents, obtained by Trend on April 18, the total properties of oil industry stands at about $400 billion.

According to the global standards, the operating expenses (OPEX) of a company shares around 1.5-2 percent of its total properties, but in Iran the figure is 2.5 times more than of global standards due to aged equipment, the report says.

"The need for spare parts for aged equipment share 50 percent of the total OPEX, while the consuming materials, services and upgrading works share 15 percent, 15 percent and 20 percent of total OPEX".
