South Pars sweet gas production stood at 102 bcm/y

Iran's South Pars gas fields produced 123.5 billion cubic meters (bcm) of raw gas during last fiscal year, ended on March 20, Shana reported on April 27.

The report quoted the Managing Director of South Pars Gas Complex Masoud Hassani as saying that the total sweet gas production from the field reach 102 bcm during last year.

The raw and sweet gas production from South Pars increased by 15 percent and 21 percent respectively year-to-year.

Iran has plans to increase the raw gas production level from South Pars to 260 bcm/y in next three years.

South Pars, located in southern region, is divided into 24 development phases (28 standard phases).

It covers an area of 9,700 square kilometers, 3,700 square kilometers of which are in Iran's territorial waters in the Persian Gulf. The remaining 6,000 square kilometers are situated in Qatar's territorial waters.

The Islamic Republic has boosted the production capacity of raw gas from this field to 420 million cubic meters per day (mcm/d) by now.
