The Trans Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) consortium has received proposals from three Turkish companies via a tender for supply of pipes to build TANAP’s next section, Sabah newspaper reported July 14.
The three companies are Borusan Mannesmann, Umran Steel Pipe and the consortium of Emek Boru Steel Pipe, NOKSEL and Erciyas Steel Pipe.
“The tender is being held for supply of high-pressure pipes for TANAP’s 32,365 kilometers long section in the Turkish province of Eskisehir,” said the report. “Borusan Mannesmann submitted the proposal at the lowest cost – $4.087 million.”
Meanwhile, the cost of the proposal from the consortium of Emek Boru Steel Pipe, NOKSEL and Erciyas Steel Pipe was $4.153 million. The cost of Umran Steel Pipe’s proposal is $4.466 million.
TANAP project, worth $9.2 billion, envisages transportation of gas of Azerbaijan’s Shah Deniz field from Georgian-Turkish border to the western borders of Turkey. The gas will be delivered to Turkey in 2018, and after completion of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline’s (TAP) construction, the gas will be delivered to Europe in early 2020.
TANAP shareholders are Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR (58 percent), BOTAS (30 percent), and BP (12 percent).
