Iran is making efforts to turn its short-term contracts for exporting oil in single-consignment to Europe into long-term contracts, an Iranian oil official said.
Mohsen Qamsari, the director for international affairs of National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), has said that exporting Iran’s crude to the Europe still goes on, SHANA reported.
Iran exports 600,000 barrels of oil the Europe per day, the official added.
Following the implementation of the joint comprehensive plan of action (JCPOA/nuclear deal), several European companies including Italy’s SARAS, Spain’s Repsol, Greece’s Hellenic Petroleum and the French giant Total as well as Shell reached agreements with Iran on purchasing the Islamic Republic’s oil.
The contracts with the European companies were signed in the two forms of single-consignment and long-term contracts.
Iran’s oil exports has reportedly surpassed 2 million barrels per day since the western imposed sanctions on the Islamic Republic were lifted in January.
