The Punj Lloyd-Limak joint Indian-Turkish enterprise will build a section of the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) from the Turkish city of Eskisehir to the border with Greece, YeniAkit newspaper reported Sept. 14.

The consortium created for the TANAP construction has awarded the joint venture a contract for the construction of this 459 kilometer-long section back in January 2016. The date of the start of the section’s construction is not reported.

Punj Lloyd-Limak received this contract by winning the tender, in which 11 other companies took part.

TANAP project, worth $9.3 billion, envisages transportation of gas of Azerbaijan’s Shah Deniz field from Georgian-Turkish border to the western borders of Turkey. The gas will be delivered to Turkey in 2018, and after completion of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline’s (TAP) construction, the gas will be delivered to Europe in early 2020. TAP's initial capacity will be 10 billion cubic meters of gas per year with the possibility of expanding it to 20 billion cubic meters.
