Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR produced 2.95 billion cubic meters of gas from the country’s offshore and onshore fields using its own funds in January-June 2017, as compared to 3.16 billion cubic meters of gas produced in the same period of 2016, said a message posted on the SOCAR website July 14.
In addition to its own production, SOCAR also gets associated gas from the Shah Deniz and Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli fields by developing these fields in cooperation with foreign partners.
The total volume of gas produced from those fields and independently developed ones was 14.13 billion cubic meters in January-June 2017, as compared to 14.94 billion cubic meters in January-June 2016.
SOCAR produced 6.27 billion cubic meters of gas from Azerbaijan’s offshore and onshore fields using its own funds in 2016, as compared to 6.87 billion cubic meters of gas produced in 2015.
The total volume of gas produced from the fields developed by SOCAR in cooperation with foreign partners and independently developed ones was 29.37 billion cubic meters in 2016, as compared to 29.05 billion cubic meters in 2015.
SOCAR includes such production associations as Azneft (the enterprises producing oil and gas onshore and offshore), Azerikimya (the chemical enterprises) and Azerigas (distributor of the gas produced in the country), as well as oil and gas processing plants, service companies, and the facilities involved in geophysical and drilling operations.
