Uzbekistan's Uzbekenergo and Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) signed a cooperation agreement Nov.21.

The agreement was signed within the visit of Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC Uzbekenergo Shukhrat Sheraliev to South Korea.

The sides mulled issues of further expansion of bilateral cooperation in the energy sector of Uzbekistan. In particular, the issues of joint implementation of the project on application of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Energy Management System (EMS) and the modernization of relevant information technologies at power facilities.

The agreement provides for the study, exchange of experience and specialists in the field of dispatching, as well as working with the international financial institutions - the Asian Development Bank, the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development and others - on issues of financing the SCADA / EMS implementation project in the Uzbek energy system.

Back in July, Uzbekenergo and KEPCO signed a memorandum of understanding on 22 July 2017.
