In 2017, 3.8 million tons of the main types of oil products were consumed in Azerbaijan, which is 1 percent more than in 2016, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee said in a report.
According to the report, 34.7 percent of the consumed petroleum products accounted for diesel fuel, 34.1 percent accounted for gasoline, 9.1 percent for fuel oil, 6.1 percent for bitumen, 4.8 percent for naphtha, 4 percent for kerosene and aviation fuel, 3.4 percent for liquefied gas, 1.1 percent - lubricants and 2.7 percent - other petroleum products.

In 2017, the commercial gas reserves in Azerbaijan amounted to 22 billion cubic meters. Thus, 82.6 percent of the reserves were formed through production, 7.8 percent – through the reserves available in early 2017 and 9.6 percent through imports.
Meanwhile, 45.8 percent of natural gas reserves were consumed in Azerbaijan, 40.3 percent were exported, 3.5 percent accounted for the loss and the remaining 10.4 percent - backup volumes.
