Azerbaijan reduces gas exports to Turkey

Azerbaijan has supplied 2.01 billion cubic meters of gas to Turkey in January-April 2018, against 2.17 billion cubic meters delivered a year earlier, the report posted on the website of the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) reads.

Azerbaijan supplied to Turkey more than 6.54 billion cubic meters of natural gas in 2017, against 6.48 billion cubic meters delivered in 2016.

Turkey imported 20.02 billion cubic meters of gas in the first four months of 2018, of which 14.84 billion cubic meters were imported through pipelines, and 5.17 billion cubic meters in the form of LNG imports, the report says.

Azerbaijan's share in Turkey's total gas imports was 10.1 percent in January-April 2018.

Turkey imports gas from Azerbaijan via the South Caucasus (Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum) gas pipeline. Turkey has signed a contract for the annual purchase of 6.6 billion cubic meters of gas from Azerbaijan's Shah Deniz offshore gas and condensate field.
