Kazakhstan reveals volumes of oil production in 1H2018

The volume of oil production in Kazakhstan amounted to 38.527 million tons in January-June 2018, which is 7.6 percent more than in the same period of 2017, according to the Statistics Committee of the Ministry of National Economy of Kazakhstan.

The country also produced 6.629 million tons of gas condensate (a decrease of 0.9 percent compared to January-June of the previous year), 28.516 billion cubic meters of natural gas (8.6 percent more than in the same period of 2017), 55.014 million tons of coal (4.5 percent more than in the same period of 2017).

Production of iron ore, in turn, amounted to 20.945 million tons (11.5 percent increase year over year), copper ore - 49.975 million tons (3.6 percent increase year over year), gold ore - 10.335 million tons (11.7 percent increase year over year), chrome ore concentrate - 2.353 million tons (6.4 percent increase year over year).

Previously, Kazakhstan's energy minister Kanat Bozumbayev said that the country produced 6.2 million tons of oil at the Kashagan field, 14.7 million tons at Tengiz field, and 6.3 million tons at Karachaganak field.

According to Bozumbayev, the total volume of Kazakhstan’s oil exports in May-June of 2018 amounted to 36.5 million tons, which is six percent more than in the same period of 2017.

Kazakh government also forecasts that oil and condensate production will amount to 87 million tons in 2018.
