Azerbaijan can use hydrogen technologies for alternative energy sources, Deputy Director of the State Agency for Alternative and Renewable Energy Sources Jamil Melikov told Trend.
The Italian Maire Tecnimont company has offered the State Agency to use technologies of processing of organic emissions-fertilizers, Melikov said.
"This technology is very relevant for Azerbaijan, given that the waste of local poultry farms is not utilized at present time. They are burned, thereby polluting the environment. The Italian Maire Tecnimont company offers us its recycling technologies, and this issue was discussed with the Chairman of the Board at the company Fabrizio Di Amato. We expect a second visit of the company's representatives to Azerbaijan, within the framework of which we will be able to get acquainted with the technologies offered to us in detail," Melikov said.
In particular, this refers to the use of hydrogen technologies as alternative energy sources and the use of biomass waste for the production of environmentally friendly fertilizers for agriculture, the deputy director of the state agency said.
