Iran jointly extracts 63 million cubic meters of gas daily from the Gonbadli gas field with Turkmenistan, said Abolhassan Mohammadi, Managing Director of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC), Trend reports referring to IRNA.
According to Mohammadi, the extracted gas has an important role in the gas network of Iran.
Mohammadi added that Iran's East Oil and Gas Production Company is the only oil and gas producer in the north-east of the country.
Shared between Iran and Turkmenistan, Gonbadli joint gasfield has production capacity of 700 000 cubic meter sweet gas daily and its outcome is transferred to Hasheminejad refinery to undergo dehydration process in the refinery’s units, especially furnaces and boilers. Currently, only 3 of the total of 9 drilled wells produce 1.1 million natural gas cubic meter in the best condition.
