Eurasian Development Bank to participate in gas supply of Kazakhstan's regions

Eurasian Development Bank together with Development Bank of Kazakhstan will fund the construction of Saryarka pipeline, Trend reports with reference to Eurasian Development Bank’s press office.

Total cost of the construction is assessed to equal to 267.3 billion tenge.

“In order to participate in the construction of a linear pipeline connecting Kyzylorda - Zhezqazghan – Karaganda – Temirtau – Nur-Sultan, Eurasian Development Bank acquired bonds of AstanaGasKMG worth 102 billion tenge for a period of 10 years. Half of the sum has been allocated by Development Bank of Kazakhstan,” the press office said.

Furthermore, the project is being realized via the bond program by issuing bonds worth 85 billion tenge and 102 billion tenge.

“The project is aimed at implementation of strategic goals of Kazakhstan in the energy security of the country and stable and uninterrupted gas supply,” the statement said.

The construction of the pipeline will provide for the gas supply of Nur-Sultan, as well as of central and north regions of the country. Some 171 settlements will be supplied with gas following first stage of the construction.
