Cost of fuel in Georgia will not increase, said Head of the Georgia's Union of Petroleum Products Importers Vano Mtvralashvili, Trend reports citing bm.ge.

“Fortunately for us, world fuel prices are falling. We can say with confidence that the price of fuel will not increase, despite the depreciation of the lari,” Mtvralashvili said.

Currently, the lowest price in Georgia is for premium fuel and Euro-fuel Lukoil at a price of 2.61 and 2.51 lari, respectively.

Earlier, Head of the Wissol Group Soso Phakadze noted that if the lari appreciably strengthens, then prices may even decline.

Amid depreciation of the lari and changes in international fuel prices, the leaders of the largest companies in Georgia envisaged increasing the price of fuel.

Previously, the fuel price has increased by 0.05 lari at the majority of petrol stations across Georgia. The price for one liter of regular type petrol at Gulf network is 2.54 lari, at Socar Petroleum Georgia – 2.53 lari, Rompetrol – 2.54 lari, Wissol – 2. 59 lari.
