By Leman Zeynalova – Trend:

The remaining agreements for the Interconnector Greece-Bulgaria (IGB) are expected to be signed on October 10 in Sofia, Bulgaria, Trend reports with reference to Independent Balkan News Agency.

“The last signatures for the construction of the Interconnector Greece Bulgaria – IGB gas pipeline are expected on 10 October in Sofia, during Greek Environment and Energy Minister Kostis Hatzidakis' visit to Sofia,” reads the report.

Reportedly, it is expected that the Greek-Bulgarian transnational agreement on the project, the shareholder agreement between the companies involved in the project and the agreement on financing it with a loan from the European Investment Bank will be signed at the same time.

IGB is a gas pipeline, which will allow Bulgaria to receive Azerbaijani gas, in particular, the gas produced from Azerbaijan's Shah Deniz 2 gas and condensate field. IGB is expected to be connected to TAP via which gas from the Shah Deniz field will be delivered to the European markets.

The initial capacity of IGB will be 3 billion cubic meters of gas.
