Two Iranian petrochemical companies sign contract

Iran’s Petrochemical Research and Technology Company and Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company have signed an agreement on the development of polyethylene terephthalate technology, Project Director of Iran’s Petrochemical Research and Technology Company Ali Mohammed Bosaqzadeh said.

Bosaqzadeh made the remarks at the signing ceremony, Trend reports referring to the Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company’s website.

The agreement also envisages the expansion of the range and quality of the products of the Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company, he said.

Bosaqzadeh added that the innovations will be introduced in the plant of the Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company by using the modern equipment through the Petrochemical Research and Technology Company's participation.

The plant of the Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company is of great importance in the Iranian petrochemical industry as it produces several special products, he said.

He said that the Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company sold its products within the country last Iranian year (March 21, 2018 - March 21, 2019) taking into account Iran's needs. In his words, the Petrochemical Research and Technology Company will help develop a program for export of the products.

The plant of the Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company can produce 1.587 million tons of polyethylene terephthalate and purified terephthalic acid a year, Bosaqzadeh added.

Earlier, CEO of Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company Mohammad Isa Anusha said that the company produced 1,200 tons of products daily in first 100 days of this Iranian year (started March 21, 2019).
