Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR saved 34.370 million kilowatt-hours of electricity at its facilities in Azerbaijan in 2018 (or 4.5 percent compared to 2017), Trend reports referring to the company's report.
In order to increase energy efficiency, the company has installed equipment at its facilities that uses less energy. The company also work son adjusting technological processes.
A project was proposed in 2018 for the construction of an installation for generating electricity by collecting associated gas emissions, and work was initiated to increase the energy efficiency of the gas-turbine thermal power plant of Azneft Production Union.
Energy security and energy efficiency are proposed among the key solutions in the field of climate change.
