A reactor of Iran's Karoon Petrochemical Company (KRNPC), located in Petrochemical Special Economic Zone of Iran's Khuzestan province, has been repaired , Director of Positive Material Identification Department of the 2nd phase of KRNPC Gholamhossein Heydari said, Trend reports citing the information portal of Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Co.
The repair work was carried by Shimi Azar Jaam company, which specializes in designing, manufacturing, installation and service corrosion resistant equipment, Heydari said.
The repaired glass reactor is expected to start operating within the upcoming week.
While the repair work was ongoing, five other reactor kept operating and therefore, no problems occurred in production, the director added.
Karoon Petrochemical Company is capable of producing high quality isocyanate products using chlorine, carbon monoxide, hydrogen gases, toluene and nitric acid and sell them at local and foreign markets, Heydari added.
The company's main products are toluene di-isocyanate (TDI) and methyl diphenyl di-isocyanate (MDI), and their output amounts to 80,000 tonnes, the director said.
