CPC-Kazakhstan selects supplier of equipment for debottlenecking program

Aktau Machine Building Plant (AMZ) will supply equipment required for debottlenecking program (DBN) to Caspian Pipeline Consortium-Kazakhstan (CPC-K), Trend reports with reference to the press office of CPC.

The corresponding agreement was signed by Kairgeldy Kabyldin, CPC-K Deputy Director General for Relations with the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Amangeldy Tynshimov, Director of Aktau Machine Building Plant (AMZ).

According to the terms of the document, the Consortium will buy a batch of booster pumps from the Kazakh manufacturer.

The main goal of the DBN is to optimize the current throughput capacity of CPC oil pipeline system. The expected volume of oil supplies from Kazakhstan based on the current portfolio of CPC shippers nominations assume that the current mechanical capacity of the Tengiz - Novorossiysk oil pipeline will be exceeded starting from 2022. In this regard, the CPC needs to upgrade a number of pipeline system facilities.

CPC Pipeline System is one of the major investment projects in energy sector with participation of foreign capital in the CIS. CPC Shareholders are Russia – 31 percent; Kazakhstan – 20,75 percent; Chevron Caspian Pipeline Consortium Company – 15 percent, LUKARCO B.V. - 12,5 percent, Mobil Caspian Pipeline Company - 7,5 percent, Rosneft-Shell Caspian Ventures Limited - 7,5 percent, BG Overseas Holding Limited – 2 percent, Eni International N.A. N.V. – 2 percent and Oryx Caspian Pipeline LLC – 1.75 percent.

Aktau Machine-Building Plant was established in 2014 and is located in the industrial zone of Aktau, Mangistau region. The plant has the capacity to manufacture a wide range of oil and gas production, drilling, oilfield, intrinsically safe electrical equipment and a range of spare parts.
