During the eight months (March 21 – Nov. 21) of this Iranian year (began March 21, 2019), the electricity production of Iran’s Manjil Wind Power Plant in Gilan province increased by 80 percent compared to the same period last year, said Azim Bolbolabadi, managing director of Iran’s Guilan Regional Electric Company, Trend reports referring to the Iranian Energy Ministry's website.
Bolbolabadi noted that the energy production at the plant increased by 36,600 megawatts.
This power plant generated 82,030 megawatts of electricity during the eight months, the managing director said.
Bolbolabadi added that 45,300 megawatts of electricity were produced by the power plant in the same period last year.
Manjil Wind Power Plant began operating in 1994 with a 500-kilowatt turbine. The plant has 171 wind turbines and can generate 92,200 megawatts of electricity.
There are 10 power plants in Iran’s Gilan province.
