Daily production of Iran’s Kharg Petrochemical Company increased by more than 100 tons on Kharg Island in Iran’s Bushehr district, said Gholamreza Amir Shaghaghi, managing director of the company, Trend reports referring to Iranian National Petrochemical Company’s website.

Production increased by 75 tons of methanol, 11 tons of propane, 9 tons of butane, 5.7 tons of naphtha and 27 tons of sulfur, the director noted.

Shaghaghi added that in order to prevent gas emission, experts from the Iranian Offshore Oil Company and the Kharg Petrochemical Company managed to collect these gases through execution of a project at Dorood 3 plant.

“Kharg Petrochemical Company will become one of the major producers of methanol and other petrochemical products around the Persian Gulf by March 21, 2026,” Shaghaghi added.

Kharg Petrochemical Company annually produces 115,000 tons of propane, 120,000 tons of butane, 70,000 tons of naphtha, 170,000 tons of sulfur and 660,000 tons of methanol.
