Iran determined to increase production from Danan oil field

A new drilling rig has been installed at Danan oil field in Iran’s western Ilam province to increase production, and the operation will be launched next week, manager responsible for projects of preserving and increasing oil production at Naft Shahr, Saadat Abad and Danan oil fields Parviz Salehvand said.

"The drilling rig will start working next week, then within two months, two more drilling rigs will be installed," he said, Trend reports via Iranian Central Oil Fields Company’s website.

“Some 11 new wells will be drilled on Danan oil field,” Salehvand said.

The agreement between the National Iranian Oil Company and Iran’s Mapna Group was signed in March 2019 to increase oil production at the Danan field.

The initial oil production on the Danan field, discovered in 2007, started in 2014. The new agreement envisages boost in production at the field.

“The agreement worth $11.8 trillion rials (approximately $283 million) signed to maintain and increase oil production on Danan field will be implemented within two years,” Salehvand said.

“The goal of the agreement is to increase oil production from 9,000 barrels per day up to 19,000 barrels per day,” the executor of the projects said.
