Turkmenistan starts work on cleaning the soil from oil pollution

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 26

Trend:

Work on cleaning the soil from oil pollution on the Turkmen coast of the Caspian sea is underway, Trend reports with reference to "Zolotoy Vek" (Golden Age) newspaper.

The work is being carried out by a modern "Mawy Kenar" enterprise in the Khazar city district.

At the exhibition of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, which was held on March 17-18 in Ashgabat, "Mawy Kenar" presented an innovative project in the field of ecology and oil and gas.

For the mentioned project a high-tech production base of the enterprise with equipment designed specifically for this project has been created. The main suppliers of the equipment are German DBRgaz armaturen GmbH, the Finnish Steamrator and the Russian NewGreenTechnology companies.

Also, Türkmennebit State concern has signed a contract for 15 years to clean up sand at areas where oil was previously discovered during drilling activities.

The ultrasonic method is used to clean up the soil from oil waste. The restoration of oil-contaminated sites will allow them to be used for growing crops in the next few years.
