Petrofac secures new five-well contract

UK Petrofac company has secured a new five-well contract with Independent Oil and Gas plc’s (IOG), Trend reports citing the company.

The well management contract has been inked for Phase 1 of Independent Oil and Gas plc’s (IOG) Core Project.

The Phase 1 of the Core Project involves the development and production of the Southwark, Blythe and Elgood fields through five wells. The produced gas is planned to be transported via the Thames Pipeline to onshore.

The Core project comprises 410 bcm of 2P+2C reserves and resources across six discovered UK southern North Sea (SNS) gas fields.

Under this contact, Petrofac will be engaged in development of the Southwark, Blythe and Elgood fields as a Well Operator on behalf of IOG.

The planning phase includes detailed well design, risk assessment and management of well-related regulatory requirements. During the execution phase Petrofac will manage well engineering, procurement and logistics, assure well construction and integrity, and provide onshore and offshore personnel to support the drilling campaign.
