Liberty Steel Hartlepool updates on work at Umid field

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 2

UK-based Liberty Steel Hartlepool, which is a part of the Liberty House Group, has supplied all of the material and services under the contract signed with Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR on Umid field, Liberty Steel Hartlepool told Trend.

“Since April, during the global epidemic, we have concluded the contract (on time) and supplied all of the material and services that we were contracted to supply,” said the company.

Liberty Steel Hartlepool said it will continue to tender for Linepipe contracts in the size range of 16” – 42” & while the company has been affected by COVID-19 due to social distancing and self-isolation it has managed to maintain its and clients manufacturing expectations.

“At this time we have not been affected by the lowering oil prices as we have secured multiple large contracts which see’s us manufacturing through well into 2021,” said the company.

Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR and UK-based Liberty Steel Hartlepool signed a contract on Umid-1 project on February 10, 2020 with no timeframe.

The contract envisages purchase of 20-inch submarine pipes for the transportation of gas condensate as part of the Umid -1 project for accelerating the production.

It is planned to drill a well for production at Umid field from the platform in 2020.

Moreover, it is also planned to start the construction of a pipeline from the platform through the sea to the shore, where the new Dashgil terminal will be built.

The technological equipment of the platform will also be improved.

Umid field was discovered by SOCAR in 2010. Risk Service Contract for this block was signed in early 2017.

Umid field is located in 75 kilometers from Baku and in 40 kilometers from the shore.
