The Georgian gas transmission company is carrying out large-scale work on the supply of gas to Manglisi townlet in the Tetritsqaro Municipality, Kvemo Kartli region of Georgia, Trend reports via the Ministry of economy and sustainable development of Georgia.
A 48-km pipeline will be built to supply the gas to the town. When launched, some 1,558 consumers will receive gas. The cost of the project is 11.5 million lari ($3.7 million).
Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Natia Turnava visited Manglisi, where she inspected the ongoing work on gas supply and met with the local residents.
During the meeting with the population, the minister emphasized huge tourism potential of Manglisi and told the local residents about the planned state programs.
“Gas has never been supplied to Manglisi before, so it is very important to build a gas infrastructure here. In March of next year, work on gas supply will be completed, after which natural gas will be provided here,” Turnava said.
The three-year plan envisages gas supply of 29 settlements in the Kvemo Kartli region.
As part of the large-scale gas supply plan for 2019-2021, 384 settlements will be provided with gas, which will include 88,363 subscribers.
